K'Alendula line - Soap, Cream and Salve

K'Alendula was created out of love, to soothe, nourish and help heal inflamed skin. A few years ago, Kat the daughter of one of my good friends was having an autoimmune attack which also affected the dermis and epidermis layers of skin on her limbs. As her skin began repairing itself, it needed soothing and moisture to heal without itching. K'Alendula formulation was created without irritants, to naturally soothe and retain topical moisture. Since then, Kat has religiously used my formulation to manage and in her words, "prevent outbreaks." She also swears it calms down her hormonal related facial skin outbreaks.

I'd love to hear your K'Alendula treatment stories!

The calendula and Arnica flowers are grown organically on my vegetable garden. I have a whole bed for the flowers used in my products.

Calendula

Calendula officinalis, commonly know as calendula or “pot marigold,” has been used to make healing herbal ointments, teas, tinctures and topical treatments for over 1,000 years. Marigolds of the Calendula genus are notable for the associated anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and antifungal properties.

The benefits and uses for Calendula officinalis include:

  • Soothing rashes, eczema, allergies and dermatitis

  • Decreasing swelling

  • Easing itchiness associated with infections or rashes

  • Aiding in the healing of athlete’s foot, candida, ear infections and ringworm

Arnica

Arnica can be applied to the skin as an oil, cream, ointment or salve. It has been used to heal and soothe since the 1500s. Arnica oil contains helenalin, a potent anti-inflammatory that can reduce pain and inflammation when applied to the skin. Arnica can help soothe bruises, aches, sprains and even insect bites.

While there are many types of arnica, the most popular is Arnica montana, which is also known as wolf’s bane. Arnica plants bloom with gorgeous large, bright yellow or yellow-orange flower heads that bloom well into autumn.

K'alendula Salve

K'Alendula Salve is an all-purpose, gentle salve that is suitable for healing:

  • Winter burned skin and lips

  • Diaper rash

  • Scrapes

  • Scratches

  • Razor burn

  • Sores

  • Blisters

  • Bruises

  • Mild burns and hot spots

  • Insect bites

  • Dry skin areas

  • And more!

Calendula is safe for use on humans of any age, dogs, cats, horses, cows, bunnies, goats, chickens and ducks too! Since cats are especially sensitive to herbs, use a small amount at a time and don’t use it over the long term. My daughter safely uses a bit on her cat’s ears when he has damaged them in a fight, but check with your vet first to find out if calendula is safe for your kitty’s particular health situation.
